In this dynamic workshop we will explore how to respond to the landscape in paint. Dominique will guide you through the processes on how to abstract from nature. Drawing and painting en plain air using the beautiful surrounds of the Byron Bay Hinterland as our inspiration, sourcing ideas from the environment around us and exploring this incredible, dramatic landscape.
Looking at composition and perspective, tonal painting and how to capture light and atmosphere. Dominique will demonstrate how to simplify colour mixing and move you towards abstraction with gestural brush strokes, colour and expressive movement. We will talk about the feel of the work, the energy, issues and location.
A beautiful lunch included on both days washed down with a glass of wine and the opportunity to converse with your fellow artists.
This workshop is suitable for all levels.
