Dominique is a multi-skilled artist who can realise her ideas in a variety of mediums. She has been developing her craft for the past twenty five years, mastering the skills required to produce large scale public sculpture and installation.
Dominique is a site specific artist who’s concepts respond to the social and historical context of a space. She is interested in engaging her audience with interactive and kinetic work that provoke a reaction in her viewers.
“For several years now I have used the boat as metaphor to express the human condition - Immigration, human physicality, loss. The symbol of the boat as both hope and fear and its relevance to our contemporary existence. “
Dominique’s major public works include three figurative sculptures for AMP Tower as part of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, The Australian Railway Memorial in Werris Creek and two of five signature sculptures for Galaxy Resort & Casino in Macau and Taiji, a 8 meter high sculpture for the Taiwanese government. Her installation work entitled Melt was the major prize winner at artsCape Biennial 2010.
