Sculpting the Landscape
September 26 @ 10:00 am - September 27 @ 4:00 pm$520
In this dynamic workshop we will be exploring our relationship to nature through site specific sculpture and ephemeral art using materials found on site. There are forests, plains and river banks to explore notions of art, place and imagination. Casting from the ground, making shapes from wood, mud, woven grasses, leaves and stones. There is scope for large land pieces as well as intimate assemblages.
Walking down to the river we will start formulating ideas and concepts to identify where you would like to create your sculpture. We will gather, form, experiment and play with natural found materials.
You can use clay, wood, riverbed and pigment…. please feel free to bring in materials you would like to explore in the landscape. The process will be recorded in photograph and film.
Come and re -connect with the natural environment and explore a form of sculptural alchemy and the power of enchantment and transformation though art.
Enjoy a delicious catered lunch and then finish the day with a glass of wine contemplating your work with fellow artists. River Hawk Ranch is the perfect place for two days of creative immersion with one of Australia’s best art-practitioners.
