Dominique is a multi disciplined artist and graduate of John Moores University UK, and San Francisco Art Institute. She works across multiple disciplines, her main practice being site specific sculpture and Installation.
Sutton’s practice explores the relationship between the body, landscape and language. Her major commissions and exhibitions reflect a sustained engagement with scale, gesture and the human condition.
Her public commissions include Water/Sky (a 9-metre sculpture for Kai Tak Sports Park, Hong Kong), three monumental figures for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games (AMP Tower), the Australian Railway Memorial in Werris Creek, and Taiji, an 8-metre steel sculpture for the Taiwanese Government Cultural Centre. Her installation Melt won the Major Prize at artsCape Biennial 2010.
Dominique’s work has been exhibited internationally, with solo shows in Sydney and London, and is held in private and public collections worldwide. Alongside her practice, she lectures widely for universities, galleries, and cultural organisations including the National Art School and Southern Cross University, and has extensive experience in arts education and mentorship.
