The sprinter

Sprinter Sydney Olympics 2000.

The Sprinter, M4, Sydney Olympic Park.

The sprinter was commissioned for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and was part of a set of three sculptures located on top of Centre Point Tower.  The sculpture is 16 meters high and weighs 3  tonnes. The other two sculptures were then relocated to Canberra after the Games, however the Sprinter has found a new home in Sydney Olympic Park.

Water/Sky

Water/SkyWork in progress. To be installed November 2024

Water/Sky is an  8 meter high shining aluminium sculpture in the figure of an athlete, with one fist in the air capturing the powerful moment of achievement and victory. As you enter into the main arrival point KAI TAK sports park, Hong Kong,  you are greeted by this striking,  figurative sculpture. Surrounded by the elegant arching fountain, this figure acts as a conduit between the water and stars. There is a sense of energy, strength, and movement that reflects the spirit of the sports park that will inspire visitors and sportspeople alike. The surface of the sculpture is etched with the stories and symbols, a mapping of the history of Hong Kong. At night the sculpture is illuminated  which changes the nature of the work by casting shadows over the park in the loose form of a map.
