An all inclusive week of Creative Exploration, Culture & Italian Living

Hello my fellow adventurers,

Join me, Dominique Sutton, your host and educator (and professional artist) on this wonderful, creative experience. Meet like-minded souls in a warm and nurturing environment. Engage in deep conversation, collaboration and new friendships (and wine) all while getting expert guidance in your chosen practice.   Guests from across the world have joined The Wandering Artist Adventures in France, Africa and Australia including painters, photographers, writers and sculptors, with plenty to do for non participating partners too.

Where….

In the hilltop village of Olivola — a hidden jewel in the heart of Monferrato, Piemonte — we gather for an intimate, creative immersion. Across eight days, you will be expertly mentored in your chosen field be that painting, sculpture, drawing or writing, while immersed in Italy’s most evocative landscapes. Expect thoughtful tuition, private cultural access, exceptional dining, and the quiet luxury of rural Italian life. Every detail has been designed so that you can focus entirely on your creative practice.

Who This Experience Is For

This retreat is for anyone looking to deepen their creative practice. With uninterrupted time to focus, think, dream, create, you can approach this retreat in anyway you choose. There is no pressure to produce just the opportunity to
invest meaningfully into your work.

Whether you are an emerging or established artist, a writer seeking renewal or a creative traveller, this journey is designed to reignite your artistic voice and nourish your senses.

Your Creative Home: La Libellule

Hosted at La Libellule, a lovingly restored private villa in Olivola, our retreat balances elegance with authenticity. Perched above rolling vineyards, Olivola is Italy’s second-smallest self-governed town — intimate, atmospheric, and entirely walkable. Mornings begin with espresso in the piazza; evenings unfold under wide skies.

Exceptional dining awaits just steps away, including celebrated local restaurants -I Due Buoi and Ristorante La Magione.

Your experience includes:

Visit to the legendary Michelangelo marble quarries

Name

"Having done Atelier by Dominique Sutton in France this year I would totally recommend any future events she may organise. Dominique had carefully preplanned the beautiful setting with just the right amount of art and adventure. She was extremely generous in every way and made sure we had enough time for her valuable art tuition. Overall it was a great experience and lots of fun with like minded people."

"I would like to say, Dominique has been able to awaken a long hidden desire to be artful in the most nurturing, encouraging, supportive way. Keeping your own individuality. It has been an exciting journey for me in this process of discovery. Satellite Island was a wonderful experience in the immersion of southern colours, rugged chilly coastlines, a feeling of isolation gives you a freedom of expression artfully. I would certainly recommend this workshop with Dominique at the wheel."

Stephanie RakeSatellite Island art adventure

I joined Dominique on the wonderful art adventure to Satellite Island. What an incredible experience to have the whole island to ourselves to explore, paint, perform and share this exclusive retreat with such brilliant group of wild women. We ate, drank, pulled oysters off the rocks, swam in the cold Tasman sea and got back to our creative souls all under the expert guidance of Dominique.
